History of Enterprise Bumazhnaya fabrika Spartak, OAO

The Shklovsky paper-mill is founded in 1898 by the Russian Minister of Railways Krivoshein and made at that time a cardboard and wrapping types of paper. In 1918 the factory was nationalized and declared by property of the state. The name "Spartak" to factory was appropriated by the Gomel Gubsovnarkhoz in 1922. In the next years the factory updated the production and extended. By 1940 production of paper reached 10400 tons per year.

In days of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1944) the factory was completely destroyed, and the equipment is taken out to Germany. Works on restoration of factory began in 1944 and were finished in 1947 with commissioning of the papermaking machine No. 1. Throughout all follow-up production activity at factory production capacities were constantly increased, modernization was carried out and works on increase in outputs were carried out. Till 1953 two more papermaking machines were put into operation.

In 1958 the shop of a tissue paper equipped with two papermaking machines is constructed. Production of paper during this period made 12 500 tons per year with a number of the working 928 people. Together with the actions for development of the enterprise and modernization of paper-making production which are carried out to the period from I960 of year on 1965, also production continuously increased. In 1965 the volume of production increased up to 14 600 tons per year.

In 1974 the 40 tons of steam per hour new boiler room is put into operation, and in 1977 construction of treatment facilities is complete. The new razmolno-preparatory department, compressor station, transport and mechanical-repair shops were put into operation in 1981-1985. The annual output of paper in 1990 reached 22 000 tons, in 2009 the output of paper and a cardboard reached in number of 30000 tons.

JSC Spartak Paper-mill is created on the basis of the order of the State Committee of Republic of Belarus on management of the state property and privatization No. 241 of 30.12.1993 by transformation of the state enterprise "Spartak paper-mill.

In 2008 the factory celebrated the 110 anniversary.

Production modernization as a result of which JSC Spartak Paper-mill will turn into one of leading enterprises in Republic of Belarus on production of a corrugated cardboard, papers for goffering, including with two-layer formation is planned for 2009-2011.

Now JSC Spartak Paper-mill lets out over 20 product names.
